Professor Clare Cable A children’s nurse by background, Clare was appointed Director of the RCN’s UK Quality Improvement Programme in 2003, which included the NICE Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Supportive Care. She moved to Edinburgh in 2007, honing her influencing skills in community nursing as a Policy Adviser with the RCN. She has worked in partnership with Prof Brendan McCormack and others to develop a transformational programme for community nurses in Scotland – the Queen’s Nurse Development Programme. Professor Tanya McCance Tanya is Director for the Institute of Nursing & Health Research and Head of the Person-centred Practice Research Centre at Ulster University in Northern Ireland. She has been a registered nurse since 1990 and throughout her career has held several joint posts between higher education institutions and health and social care providers demonstrating her commitment to the integration of practice, education, and research. She has an international reputation in the development of person-centred practice through the use of participatory research approaches such as practice development and action research.
